The
colorful, vintage flower pendant paired with the gold-plated drip reminds
of the Dia De Los Muertos celebration. In 2002, when Nina Egli was studying
acting at The Lee Strasberg Institute in New
York , she began to make jewelry. Not content to be a
side project, Toujours Toi gradually took on a life of its own; a happy state
of affairs which Nina describes as sharing her life with “a demanding,
wonderful, strange, funny and spoiled child.” A Switzerland
native, Nina now works from a studio in Brooklyn .
All the pieces are handmade either in New York
or Zurich . The
ideas for each of the 11 collections come from the artful combination of
references, which are put together to make something unique.
They create beautiful
accessories, and there is a story behind every piece. All the jewelry you
see has been inspired by a designer’s personal experiences and discoveries - by
their own journey. It’s a story we want to share, so every week we will be
interviewing one of our designers. It’s a chance for you to get a closer look
into their world, to connect with them, get inspired, and meet the amazing
people behind the pieces we fall in love with. Our first interview is with Nina
Egli, the talented designer behind emerging brands based in New York , United States .
We interviewed Nina to find out more about her background, inspirations,
collection and future plans.
It is very
cool, vintage style, long necklace featuring a decorative, oval pendant.
The butterfly and flower images are laid over a 50's style geometric design.
Fab indeed. Vintage bronze alloy design long chain necklace! Beautiful flower
decorating glass raindrop shape pendant. Perfect gift for young lady
girls/women! Long chain with a beautiful flower style
locket featuring an image of a penny farthing, butterfly, bird and flowers on
the front. Not only does the locket open to a clock, but the clock works too. And to go with the 'Alice in Wonderland' theme there is a little
golden pendant of a rabbit too...'I'm late, I'm late, for a very important
date.
